This massive building is an exquisite example of Danish church architecture. It is located right in the center of the city, which seems to have sprouted up around it. Colorful frescoes of various sizes decorate the whitewashed walls. The dramatic nave rises 100 meters and the altar is embellished with ornate gold designs. Though the original construction began in the 13th century, it was reworked in the 15th century and the style of the church changed from Romanesque to Gothic, as it remains today.
