It was a Friday night, me and the lady stupidly decided not to make a booking - we got to the restaurant around 7.30 and was requested to wait in the lounge area for 20 minutes before a table of 2 became free. I used this opportunity to have a pint of Cobra, while Jenny sipped on a Martini cocktail - I know... Once we got to our table on the mezzanine floor next to an arched Victorian door facing the courtyard - we couldn't believe our luck (as I thought it was the best seat in the house!). Only thing I would say was, with the combination of people speaking and the music - we had to raise our voices in order to communicate. The starters came within 20 minutes of ordering, which I thought was fantastic, considering how busy it was. We went for a mixed platter which had a combination of seafood, vegetarian & meat dishes. For the mains I decided to experiment with a signature dish, while jenny went for the proven Chicken Tikka Masala. We were both impressed with the food, Jenny felt her dish wasn't hot enough, but the waiter kindly took the dish back and got the chef to create an extra hot CTM. All in all, I would recommend this place - would be interested to see what the other diners thought… Website: Visit the The Spice Mill website » |
