2. Sam's Hua Zhong Xing

It took them over 2.5 hours to serve a so--so meal that cost a whopping £163 for 6 with only 1 drink per person. Very slow and did not seem to care. Though the food was probably decent it did not go down too well given the long waits between courses and the shattering cost at the end. And the cheek to whack us 10% gratuity built into the final charge. Be warned!

I went to Sam's restaurant in the hope of a nice peaceful and relaxed dinner. Unfortunately the experience was terrible for a number of reasons. The service was absolutely terrible. 1hour and 50minutes and all we had was our starter of a couple dumplings. When I enquired as to why the main course was taking so long, the server who I guess to be the owner or manager became very agitated and was extremely insulting by suggesting that I do not know how long chinese food takes to cook. That's pretty funny cause my dad is chinese and I grew up on chinese food, I have also been a chef since I was 16. For 10 years. Regardless of the insulting and annoying owner, the food was very sub-par and tasteless. The rice was hard and the food was wayyy over-priced. Do yourself a favour and get a take-out or go to a restaurant like the Manchurian. Do not go to Sam's if you do not want to be infuriated by slow service, insulting staff, and crap food for terrible value.
