Built by Colonel Simon Perkins, whose father founded the city of Akron, this Greek revival style house was completed in 1837. Today, it serves as an Akron museum that transports visitors back to the mid-1800s. The Perkins mansion retells a part of area history in each room, and much of the furniture is original. Tours are by appointment only.
