A long and intimate history precedes The French Coffee Shop as it exists today. Each of the past and present owners has put heart and soul into the charming ambience and delicious food that pleases one customer after another on a daily basis. DOWNTOWN. Popular among the local business crowd, this dining establishment offers a variety of gourmet Thai specialties as well as a complete sushi bar. Diners often come alone or in small groups to take advantage of fresh sushi that is prepared and served at the small bar tucked away in the corner. Larger groups may prefer a table or booth in the charming dining room. While sushi is a popular item, other house favorites include Miso Yaki, Szechuan shrimp and Hunan Chicken. For those needing take-out, free delivery is available for orders of $15 or more.

A short drive from downtown, Hyde Park is situated next door to Akron's Sheraton Hotel. Upon entering, charismatic artwork, dark woods and brass accents foreshadow a delightful lunch or dinner. In addition to a menu of enticing lunch options, dinner selections may include seared marinated Ahi tuna, sautéed crab cakes and broiled lobster tail. Tiramisu, fallen chocolate soufflé and crème brûlée are among the sumptuous desserts selections.

A favorite among locals for lunch, dinner and after work gatherings, Northside is an unpretentious establishment that has become known for its good food, rejuvenating spirits and great live entertainment. Offering a welcoming ambience, the inside of the establishment is long and narrow, accented by bold-colored paintings on the walls that are frequently rotated works from different local artists. As you walk in, the bar is the first thing to greet you, followed by an outdoor patio and a sitting area with uniquely tall benches and tables and lastly, a raised stage. Gyros, burgers, pizzas and jambalaya round out the menu.
