Stabler – Leadbeater Apothecary Shop

ALEXANDRIA. This shop was the local gathering place and pharmacy in Alexandria for 141 years before it had to close its doors during the Depression. Today's visitors are treated to a rare glimpse into life of the 1800s, since the store still looks much the same as it did so many years ago. Examine various potions, tools, furnishings, and the medicinal herbs grown by pharmacist Edward Stabler, including sassafras and Virginia snakeroot.
