DULUTH.   The contemporary styling of this restaurant fits its cuisine, which is a modern fusion of Asian and American Southwestern traditions. The whole place, in fact, has a golden glow that surrounds diners with warmth and comfort. The menu offers as starters fire-seared quail, lemon crab cream cheese fritters, and Mediterranean mussels in a coconut curry broth. As a follow-up, sample perfectly cooked Chilean sea bass, or try ginger-seared salmon or toasted coriander pork tenderloin. Luscious side dishes include asparagus risotto and smoked bacon-spinach strudel. Dessert offerings are just as tempting, and you'll find wines by the bottle or the glass.   (© 10Best)

We had a reservation for 8:15 on Valentines Day, which was also confirmed that day via a phone call. Yet, upon our arrival I was told that we would have to wait for 30 to 40 min before being seated due to overbooking. The best accommodation that was offered was to wait at the bar, which was completely full as well. The front desk hostess wasn’t very helpful nor was she apologetic. We decided to leave. Needless to say, I will not be coming back to Sia’s again. Nor will my friends and colleagues.

Truly had a fantastic meal and great service there; the crew really has it down. There is a new chef who is focuses on local and organic ingredients, and it shows.

My husband brought me to Sia's for Valentine's Day. Neither of us had been prior and we both were disappointed with our overall experience. The decor, although well intended, lacks attention to detail and appears to have gone unfinished. The ceiling tiles are the same as those that exist in an office setting. There is no real "welcome area" at the front door. Upon entering one feels as though they are on top of the tables nearby. We each had a martini at the bar while we waited for our reservation. I paid $22.00 for two martinis, although very well mixed, they were SMALL-- 4 oz.? Once seated, the tables are so close one can participate in the conversation with the table next door. Tables are very conventional and laid out in straight rows. It was loud and bright and the harp did not go with the setting. The preset menu for Valentines Day was an option we welcomed. The food itself was unimaginative and lacked overall quality for a "5 star" restaurant (as our server described it). My husband did not receive the correct entree when our meal was delivered. When the correct plate arrived, it was cooked med well vs. med rare as requested. The "filet mignon" was not the cut of meat it is supposed to be. Both the oysters and lobster tail were breaded and deep fried even though the description of the oysters read "flash fried". The scallops had a heavy tarter sauce laid over them which ruined the experience of the scallop and made the gouda grits too heavy to stomach. Our server was well intended and did his best to make up for what the restaurant itself lacks by bringing us a glass of champagne with our dessert. This was a nice accompaniment to the best part of the meal, the warm, delicate, chocolate cake and passion fruit bread finish. Our bill came to $189.00 which we regrettably paid. This meal should have been priced and served with the likes of Macaroni Grill. On Superbowl Sunday my husband and I willingly paid $200 at Blue Point for ambiance, professional prepared cuisine, and spirits. Sia's is a far cry from fine dining and does not rate with 5 stars. We will not return nor put it on our list of recommendations.
