In 1948, a young Arkansan named Carl Brady arrived in Anchorage with a Bell helicopter, believing that such aircraft would be the perfect way to view Alaska's beautiful scenery. Today, Era Aviation is the oldest helicopter company in the US, and it specializes in commercial aviation and "flightseeing." Era is also Alaska's largest regional airline, employing Beech 1900D and Dehavillian Dash 8 aircraft to connect Anchorage with Kenai, Kodiak, Homer, Valdez, Cordova, and other Alaskan cities.
