10. Wasilla

If you're heading to Willow for the start of the Iditarod, you'll pass through Wasilla – keep your eyes peeled for political offspring! Governor Sarah Palin's hometown is a quaint little burg that's fairly typical of Alaska. But aside from trying to spot Todd, Track, Trig, Bristol, Willow, and Piper, just what is there to do in Wasilla? Well, hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing and similar pursuits are the primary time fillers – the region is truly beautiful and exceptionally well-suited for outdoor enthusiasts. It's also a great place to board a train to Denali. As for meals, you'll have the option of fast food joints, family restaurants like IHOP and Chili's, a handful of Chinese and Mexican spots, and a few (sometimes rowdy) bars.   (© 10Best)
