As you would expect of any major city, Anchorage offers a diverse selection of dining options. Local diners serve breakfast all day. Most spots offer homemade bread, sourdough pancakes and fresh fishcakes. For lunch, visit Anchorage's small downtown "high rise" area. The local businesspeople love fresh and filling sandwiches, soups and salads and several small cafes serve just that. Dinners run the gamut; whether you favor ethnic cooking such as Thai or Chinese, or good 'ole American steaks and potatoes, you will be able to find a suitable spot at a suitable price.
