 EDITOR REVIEW: DOWNTOWN. Alaskans love a big hearty breakfast, so it isn't a surprise that this all-day breakfast joint is popular. The house special is sourdough pancakes made with starter supplied by a miner in 1939. Another favorite is the Alaska sampler composed of reindeer sausage, smoked halibut, and lox dip. Homemade chicken soup with matzo balls, hearty reindeer stew, and a wide selection of traditional sandwiches round out the menu.
