Their expertise serves shoppers well since they not only help you choose appropriate gear, they help you plan a trip itinerary. They also rent equipment and offer extensive supply lists so you won't forget a thing. Don't want to carry your gear on the boat or airplane? Ship it ahead, and the shop will hold it until you arrive in Anchorage. In addition to hiking/mountaineering equipment, you can rent sea kayaks, snow shoes, and cross-country skis.
