Discover the Scientist within You at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum with more than 250 interactive science and technology exhibits that will spark your imagination. You can check out a real ambulance, stick your hands in a tornado, find out what makes a hot air balloon rise, and see how a television studio works. Sciencepalooza — a science extravaganza! Held the first weekend of every month. Free with museum admission! Fun hands-on experiments, activities, special guests, demonstrations and more! Live Super Science Shows every weekend, and lots of other special programs will make your visit even more fun, and there's even a preschool gallery for tots! Don't forget to check out the Hands-on store for some cool science related souvenirs.

Cobblestone Farm Museum

Nineteenth century rural life comes alive on this historic farm, which is complete with animals that live in the large old barn. Children enjoy participating in such activities as building with logs, spinning and dyeing wool, candle-making, churning butter, and baking on a cast iron wood-burning stove. Group tours can be arranged by appointment.

Jean Paul Slusser Gallery

Located on North Campus, the Slusser Gallery hosts exhibits by art students, faculty, and alumni from the University of Michigan. It also offers two annual major exhibitions featuring important national and international artists, along with a number of visiting shows.

Kelsey Museum of Archaeology

[Temporarily closed for construction. WIll reopen in 2009.] Located on the University of Michigan campus, this Romanesque-style museum features exhibit galleries devoted to displaying the extensive collection of artifacts and objects from Ancient Greece, Rome, Egypt, and the Near East. Items displayed include Egyptian masks and sculptures, examples of rare Roman glass, mummies, and black and red figure-clad Greek vases.

Kempf House Museum

This 19th century Greek Revival house was home to the Kempfs, music teachers and important patrons of the arts. The house is furnished with Victorian antiques and family keepsakes. The music studio has been beautifully restored and includes an 1877 Steinway piano. The home is the center for local history and features special lectures and other events held throughout the year.

University of Michigan Museum of Art

[Through 2008 the Museum will operate a temporary exhibition space called UMMA Off/Site. Located immediately adjacent to the University's central campus at the corner of South University and South Forest - 24-hour information hotline: 734-763-8662]. This museum is one of the top 10 university art museums in the country. The permanent collection features thousands of works that include art by both old and modern masters such as Dόrer, Delacroix, Rodin, Picasso, Rembrandt, Whistler, Cιzanne, and Monet. The depth and quality of this world-class collection ranges from Italian Renaissance paintings to African sculpture. You can also view a collection of contemporary photography and a Japanese Gallery.
