5. Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair

The Buzz -- Ann Arbor in July is an art lover's paradise. Four major simultaneous festivals bring about 1500 of the nation's best artists to the city, and festival attendees number in the hundreds of thousands. Parking nearby is not an option – your best bet is to park at Pioneer High School or Briarwood Mall and then take the shuttle. The "Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair" is centered in two locations: the campus section is on State Street from South University to William, and the downtown section is on Main Street from William to Huron, and Liberty Street from Ashley to Fifth Avenue; the focus is fine visual arts.
