Accessible by several small paths, this park features Argo Pond, flanked by foot trails that wind through lush willow and oak trees to the canoe livery off Longshore Drive. Rare species of birds have been sighted in the grassy areas. The trail wanders beneath a railroad bridge and follows the millrace to Detroit Edison's old brick power plants near the Broadway Bridge.

Another in the unbroken chain of parks this one's ideal for a wooded walk and a picnic. The park, located on the south bank of the Huron River, is accessible only from the north side where a bridge crosses off Barton Drive.

This park, the first in an unbroken chain of parks that follow the Huron River as it winds through the city, features a beautiful pond and a lovely wooded area. It can be reached from Huron River Drive by one of the two footbridges that cross the river.

This popular park features several arched footbridges that connect a series of small islands. A four-mile trail used by bicyclists, joggers and inline skaters follows the south bank of Geddes Pond all the way to Dixboro Road. Canoes, bikes and paddleboats are available for rent.

Located on the University of Michigan campus, this spacious indoor conservatory is divided into three sections, each of which represents a different climate. One features tropical plants, including orchids, bromeliads, and birds native to Michigan. Plants from warm-temperate climates grow in a central greenhouse, along with a display of insectivorous plants. Desert plants and cacti occupy the third section. Nature trails, woodlands, wetlands, ponds, prairie grasses, and garden sculptures fill the grounds.

Situated on two hundred acres of land that rises up from the river valley's floor, this park features spacious grasslands and wooded areas that are crisscrossed by meandering trails that wind through a forest which features tree species from all over the world.
