LATIN QUARTER.   Mayer van den Bergh, a 19th-century art connoisseur with an impeccable eye for quality, collected more than 4,000 works during his lifetime. His treasures include bronze figures, tapestries, 12th-century sculpture, ornate silverware, and most famously, "Mad Meg," Pieter Brueghel the Elder's greatest painting. After his death, van den Bergh's parents commissioned the construction of this small museum – designed in 16th-century, late Gothic-Renaissance style – in his memory. An English-language guide is available for a slight fee.   (© 10Best)
