3. Middelheim Museum

WILRIJK.   Antwerp is quite proud of this excellent, open-air sculpture museum, which premiered in 1950 and occupies land purchased by the city in 1910. Three hundred works are arranged by date, beginning with Rodin. A walk through them not only offers a wonderful overview of modern and contemporary Western sculpture but provides a great way to appreciate nature. Artists featured include Emile-Antoine Bourdelle, Pablo Gargallo and Juan Munoz. A free map, available at the museum entrance, sketches out a complete two-hour tour.   (© 10Best)
