CENTRAL STATION. Getting to the Antwerp Zoo is easy, thanks to a convenient location next to the city's Central Station. Built 150 years ago in Art Nouveau style, the zoo offers enclosures that mimic exotic structures, including an Indian temple and a North African villa. The 25-acre zoo is home to 6,000 animals, and a special emphasis is placed on threatened species like the bonobo, golden lion and Congo peacock. An aquarium is home to sea lions, and a museum of natural history details the development of most of the zoo's "permanent residents."
