PORT.
A local saying explains that "the Scheldt River owes its existence to God, and Antwerp owes its existence to the Scheldt River." Antwerp has had a port since the Romans built one in the Scheldt River estuary in the 2nd century BC. Originally, the port was directly beside the city center, but today, it's located eight miles away near the Dutch border. The entire harbor and dock complex cover 25 square miles, and each year 16,000 ships pass through Antwerp's port – Europe's second largest harbor and the world's fourth largest.
