EDITOR REVIEW: APPLETON. Learn about Outagamie County's history at this Appleton museum, located on the Lawrence University side of downtown. The main-floor exhibit focuses on World War II's impact on this Wisconsin community and features uniforms, medals, and photographs donated by the private sector. Downstairs, you'll find a chronicle of the Fox River Valley's people. The third level is dedicated to three of Outagamie County's most famous citizens: politician Joseph McCarthy, writer Edna Ferber, and the mysterious Harry Houdini.
