Armagh Palace was originally designed as a home for the Church of Ireland Primate. Archbishop Robinson retained the services of talented architect Thomas Cooley to design and build the residence in the late 18th century. Today the palace itself is home to the district council offices and rarely open to visits. The demesne grounds now feature recreational areas that include walking trails and picnic areas. Closed October - March. (© 10Best) More Details for Armagh Palace GroundsHours: Daily Open 24 Hours Admission: Free Website: Visit the Armagh Palace Grounds website » Type: Historic Sites, Parks |
