Located in the center of town, this Church of Ireland place of worship is the smaller of Armagh's two cathedrals. It has a very medieval feel and is one of the city's oldest landmarks. St Patrick himself founded a church on the site in 445 AD and two years later he deemed the site as the seat of the Irish church. The current cathedral was built in the 13th century and since then has undergone many renovations and alterations. Highlights include carved gargoyles, an ancient Celtic cross and the resting place of the 11th-century High King of Ireland, Brian Boru.
