My partner and I were here in early August 2009. They offer a VIP membership with all sorts of benefits including 200 credits, etc. However, "No Cards" available until "next week!" I waited to sign up for the players club for an employee who is "always late" only to be told this. So much for players VIP club. The slots are even tighter than usual for Aruba. I put considerable money into the dollar slots and was virtually ignored by waitresses in favor of men playing at the tables. Workers aren't particularly friendly or helpful and you almost have to tap dance to get their attention. Keep in mind this was NOT a busy time of year for them. I also played the afternoon bingo where you weren't even told to drop off a card for drawings. The prizes weren't that good at the bingo (about $7.50 for one set) and there is a half hour break during the game where they, of course, encourage you to play slots or tables. I set aside a certain amount of money to lose which actually isn't too painful if you are having a good time in a friendly environment. That was not the case in the Excelsior.
