A classy throwback to '60s-era dining, Frankie Bones seeks to inject big-city culinary perspective into this far-from-dowdy mountain community. Polished woodwork, supple leather, and retro tunes set the scene for brunch dishes like a mushroom and asparagus omelet, chocolate French toast, seafood Benedict, and homemade corned beef hash. If those classics aren't enough to leave you with a contented grin, look to a NY strip with eggs or prime rib with hashbrown casserole for added pleasure. Don't forget a Bloody Mary or a peach Bellini!   (© 10Best)

TOTALLY AWESOME!!
This is a MUST for anyone in Asheville! I've been to Frankie Bones many times, and each time is as good as the time before! The Bartenders not only remember your name, but what you drink. The Servers are very helpful and polite! And very knowlegable of the menu as well as they're extensive wine and martini list. You must try a Marinated Ribeye or the Salmon Oscar! (2 of my favs) The Goat Cheese Salad is Awesome! And I never leave without a piece of Homemade Carrot Cake! DELICIOUS!! I recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and to anyone who's looking for a great place to eat!!

They nailed it
This is the closet thing I have found to the American Italian restaurants of the late 50's. The menu was extensive with good selection of steaks and seafood and all the traditional favorite Italian items that would have been standard fare in a big city Italian restaurant back than. The service was great and the food well prepared. We ended the meal with an order of s'mores which we toasted at our table...very cool. Standouts: The twice baked potato springrolls, lobster baked macoroni and cheese, best NY strip I've had in a long time. Allow time to enjoy the extensive B/W photo collection of the iconic characters of late 50's/early 60's....and the rat pack music will keep you snapping..

I was very excited when I read about this new restaurant concept. I have been there twice with a party of six. I was very disappointed on both occasions. To me, a throw back restaurant called Frankie Bones should bring back memories of the 70's or 80's. The restaurant is beautiful, great staff, and does have a great atmosphere. I had a Crab Louie cocktail in Vegas and I still talk about it. It was the best, hard boiled egg, asparagus, shrimp, lump crab meat, pickle, beets, with Russian Dressing, and it was gigantic. Frankie Bones @ $12.00 was a Martini class with a couple of cut up shrimp and some hard boiled egg with Thousand Island desssing. It was a very poor attempt at a throw back item and way over priced. The Wise Guy cut Prime Rib @28.00 was all fat and should never have gone out of the Kitchen. It looked tiny on the plate, did not look like it was slow roasted, just grilled. The next trip was just as bad, my Calamari was very skimpy and the Lobster Mac and Cheese @$24.00 was tiny and very rich and heavy. My Idea of an Old School throw back restaurant is big portions at a reasonable price and make your money on the drinks. I don't care about the price, just give me some good quality food and a nice portion and I will keep coming back. The chef needs to decide what he wants to be known for, high priced skimpy meals, or large portions at a fair price.
