 EDITOR REVIEW: DOWNTOWN. Rich with visual interest and warmth, Bistro 1896 is a delightful destination for both food and drinks. Its American cuisine gets a kick in the pants from creative chefs, who ply diners with all sorts of fabulous fare. At brunch, the bounty includes pan-fried mountain trout, sourdough French toast, build-your-own omelets, and a shrimp and polenta Benedict.
