This first-rate live music venue – widely regarded as one of the best in the Southeast – hosts a wide range of acts week to week, from regional faves like Acoustic Syndicate to national acts like Ben Harper, Johnny Winter and the Smashing Pumpkins. This popular concert hall hosts bluegrass, jazz, and blues performances and offers contra dancing on Monday nights. The hip little club makes a perfect destination for gathering with friends or meeting new people, and the second-floor lounge offers non-smoking comfort and a mood-setting fireplace as well. The array of music is invariably crowd-pleasing, and it begins at 9pm weekdays, 10pm weekends. A menu of light fare and an oxygen bar also add to the mix.

DOWNTOWN. Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria is appropriately named for the things they do best: beer and pizza. But this is better than just beer and pizza. Barley's offers an enormous variety of specialty beers on tap and by the bottle, and their pizza is truly some of the best anywhere. Other menu items are good, but the pizza is the real reason to dine here. Live bluegrass, folk or jazz bands perform several nights a week, and an upstairs room offers pool tables and darts, available by the hour.
