EAST ASHEVILLE. This mall offers many of your favorite retail stores and an ample food court. Sears, Belk, JCPenney, and Dillard's anchor the shopping center, and there's also an Old Navy, Gap, Eddie Bauer, American Eagle, Champs Sports, and Bath & Body Works. For a quick fix, stop by Cinnabon, Barney's Coffee, or Planet Smoothies.

3. Grove Arcade

DOWNTOWN. This historic shopping center houses art galleries, boutiques, gourmet food stores and other specialty shops. Its outdoor Portico Market features local vendors selling fresh produce and handmade crafts. On-site eateries include Anntony's Caribbean Café, Grove Corner Market, Oliver and Annabelle's, and Thai Basil. The complex also houses the Grove Arcade Arts and Heritage Gallery, a small museum showcasing the cultural history and contributions of the Blue Ridge. Sunday hours vary for individual businesses.

BILTMORE AREA. Quaint Tudor storefronts house a variety of specialty shops in this attractive neighborhood near the Biltmore Estate. Art, jewelry, antique, clothing and furniture stores are available, and sidewalk cafes provide a pleasant places to stop for a bite to eat. Retailers include Interiors of Asheville, Biltmore Village Dolls and Gifts, Constance Boutique, the Gardener's Cottage and Old World Christmas Shoppe.
