It's always telling to see what a city celebrates. Learning a place's passions indicates what sort of people populate it, love it, give it life. From the looks of its prominent annual events, Atlanta's love affair is with music – festivals of rhythm, melody, and tempo that welcome spring and call forth the summer. Starting in April, Wednesday WindDown at Centennial Olympic Park features weekly concerts with regional and nationally-known artists, while the Classic Chastain welcomes an awesome lineup of outdoor shows, too. Come Memorial Day, Atlanta Jazz Festival calls musicians to Woodruff Park for a weekend of free entertainment. Atlanta's parks, in fact, serve as gathering spots for a number of city events, as Inman Park, Chastain Park, and Centennial Olympic Park attest.
