MIDTOWN.
In the 1920s, this exquisite structure was an opera house for the Atlanta Women's Club. Today, its dramatic architecture and historical vibe give the space a brand of cool all its own and make it one of the primo event locations in town. On Friday and Saturday nights, the two-level Main Lounge becomes an exclusive dance club that features amazing sound and light shows, top-flight DJs, pulse-pounding music and, of course, plenty of sharply-attired eye candy. Helpful hints if you go: dress to impress (of course!), try your best to get on the guest list, and look for the entrance on Crescent Avenue.

awesome secuirty experience!
I was at Opera this past weekend, May 31st...i slipped and rolled my ankle in the back room of the Club, i believe it is call the Venetian room. There was a very big, very intimidating security guard posted in the location who saw what happened, this guy came over and basically carried me to a seat, went and brung me some ice, and regularly checked on me over the next 2 hours to make sure i was still ok, even after i had gotten back up walking around. I applaud the security at Opera and will surely go back thanks in large part to this young man!

worst security EVER!
I was at Opera Friday night (may 1, 2009) when a fight broke out at closing time. I was thrown into the door and was hurt very badly. The bouncers told me to "get the f*** downstairs" so i tried, even though i couldn't walk. I obviously wasn't moving fast enough so he proceeded to get in my husband's face and yelled at him. He also called me and my friend horrible names and put his hand up at us like he was going to slap us or something. No one helped me downstairs even though I couldn't walk. But a drunk girl couldn't walk either, and they helped her. I have never felt so disrespected or offended in my entire life. I used to like Opera, I will NEVER go back and will NEVER recommend it to anyone else. Maybe if the staff was nicer then I would consider it.
