No Longer a Jazz Venue
Food is great....service is so-so. More to the point though is the "jazz " entertainment is anything but jazz. Cafe 290 now hires jam bands who play too loud, one song too long and have nothing to do with jazz. Sorry, but this used to be a smooth jazz venue not a R&B spot. I've revisited several times now to find a different band doing the same material. Won't be back...off to Sambuca's.

The Music was great. The service was crappy our waitress took forever to bring us water after we asked multiple times. The food would be okay if it was half the price because it is not great, its okay. And gratuity should not be included because if it was left up to us we wouldnt have left a tip because our waitress was horrible, but I guess she felt she didnt have to work hard, and she did just that. Look forward to spending 100 plus here because you have to pay a cover charge to eat.

I’ve been going to Café 290 off and on for the last 8 to 9 years and have never been disappointed. But, I go for the music. It’s not pricey in relation to other places with consistently good live music. If you are into jazz it is the place to go. The Sunday night jam sessions can be as good, if not better, than anything you have ever heard locally.
