INMAN PARK.   Since opening this sleek eatery, owner-chef Kevin Rathbun has fielded countless interview requests from rags all around the US. The restaurant's post-industrial decor provides the perfect backdrop for Rathbun's singularly innovative New American fare. Dazzling are "Big Plates" (tarragon-roasted chicken) and "Second Mortgage Plates" (Maine lobster and roasted green-chile soft tacos). Despite all the press and hoopla, the place maintains a neighborhood feel, and the patio dining area welcomes nightly walk-in traffic. We love the menu here — it’s divided up into Small Plates, Raw Plates, Side Plates, Soup Bowls, Big Plates, and Second Mortgage Plates. You’ll find memorable dishes in each category. Go all out and try the prime 20-ounce bone-in rib eye, served up with Hot Point Reyes Blue Cheese and red wine vinaigrette or go for something more manageable such as the Sea Scallop Benedict on Country Ham Grits with asparagus and spiced hollandaise sauce.
