Tuscan plates of arugula and rabbit, beef carpaccio, hand-made pastas, and fresh fish come flying out of the small, unpretentious kitchen. You can't go wrong with dinner at this tiny Buckhead cottage. (from Southern Living)

BUCKHEAD.   Sibling to a restaurant in San Casciano, Italy, Antica Posta has earned its reputation on stellar Tuscan cuisine. The time-tested menu employs premium ingredients, just as patrons count on, and folks know that abundant experience only makes the food better. Much-requested starters include excellent carpaccio, rabbit and arugula salad, and crostini with chicken liver sauce and duck ragù. Gnocchi al pesto also elicits raves, as do grilled rib-eyes, osso buco, and rosemary-marinated rack of lamb. Great wines are a welcome accompaniment, and the panna cotta can't be missed.   (© 10Best)

Went to Anica Posta for the first time after having dined inBeuckhead for three years at various restaurants. Honestly, this may have been the worst dinner experience I have had in Buckhead, if not the worst I have ever had at an supposedly upscale restraurant. First, the tables are so tight together that if they are crowded the twosome next to you will feel like they at your table. Second, the service was snobbish and pretentious. Third, we had to send back our bread plate as there was food baked on the plate. Fourth, they messed up both the appetizer and dinner choices. For an appetizer I ordered bruchetta. When they served prociutto and I pointed out the error, they were huffy and just picked up our plates. (They did eventuall bring the bruchetta, mediocre at best). The wine list was as pretentious as I have seen in Buckhead. Very hard to find any moderately pricesd bottles $50 or under and the ones they offered were not the greatest.. Dinner was a bust as well. They offered dinners in appetizer or full entre sizes. By this time I was ready to leave anyway so I ordered a crab dish in appetizer form. It was okay but not great. My wife's meal was again mediocre, but considering the price it was a real disappointment. Then the bill came and they charged me for a full meal on my appetizer I pointed out the error and again, they were huffy and dismissive. If you want an italian dinner in Buckhead, go to Pricci's or La Grotta. Antica's prices are high end for low scale meal, service and ambiance. I couldn't even give this one star!

Service was good, but food was mediocre, certainly it qualified for "American Italian", but not authentic Italian cuisine. Very disappointing for a special birthday night out.

I had dinner at Antica Posta for the second time last Saturday. Crowded tables and so noisy one couldn't talk without shouting - not my idea of a good time…But the worst was the food. Boring white beans (about 1/4 of a cup) and eggplant parmigiana (sort of tomato eggplant mush) for appetizers set the tone for the meal. My ravioli…was overcooked to a veritable soup. The bread was abysmal. How can Italians serve such bread? They must be laughing up their sleeves at all the fools who think these miserable, anemic lumps of dough are anything that resembles the wonderful loaves and rolls of Italy. I could hardly restrain myself from giving them a few pointers on how to bake a decent loaf of bread. They are over kneading their dough and why they don't know this is beyond me. Don't go here unless you want to be ripped off.
