Search for gourmet goods at the world-class DeKalb Farmers Market, a 140,000-square-foot "United Nations of fresh food." Here, city residents and top chefs alike squeeze, poke, and examine seemingly endless varieties of fresh fare. (from Southern Living)

DECATUR.   Offering international flair in Greater Atlanta, this farmers market is a great destination for spices and produce you won't find at your everyday supermarket. Billed as a "world market," the enclosure features more than 140,000 square feet of shopping space, much of which is occupied by foods from faraway places, including India and Malaysia. Artichokes from the Holy Land, fine wines, exotic seafood, imported olive oils, and even high-elevation orchids hint at the goods you may discover at the Dekalb Farmers Market.   (© 10Best)

This place is just awesome!! If you have wireless internet capabilities...you will want to bring it just so that you can search recipes for all of the exotic foods you will find. There is an incredible wine selection. Wines from all over the world at prices that can't be beat. The shelves of herbs and spices are just incredible. Oh my goodness, there is so much to the place! Don't bring your kids...they will get bored and drive you nuts. Plan on being there for quite a while. And certainly...eat lunch there!! Yes, they have cafeteria style lunch..it's both delicious and reasonable. The selection of seafood, meats and cheeses are just wonderful. Do not miss the opportunity to visit this place.
