Relax in the city’s manicured parks, get in a daily run, and find even more evidence of local history in Piedmont Park’s plaques and displays. If horticulture appeals to you, the Botanical Garden boasts indoor and outdoor specimens and offers plenty of creative fodder for budding gardeners. If kids are along for the ride, spend some time at Zoo Atlanta, whose exotic animals and youth-oriented activities are sure to please. And if pure and unadulterated fun is on the agenda, no one does it better than Six Flags, which is only a few miles from town and a certain source of pleasure.

This is the best climbing gym in the Southeast, and one of the biggest as well. People say Atlanta Rocks is the biggest, but Adrenaline is about 500 square ft. bigger. Plus the climbing and the people are incomparable. For learning about climbing, having a fun day, holding a celebration, or just hanging out with new and old friends, Adrenaline Climbing is my favorite place.

Majestic Antebellum house museum. Listed as one of the 50 most beautiful homes in Atlanta by Atlanta magazine. Filled with family possessions and surrounded by 7 acres of gardens and original out-buildings. Located in Historic Roswell, just north of Atlanta.

This is the world's absolute finest selection of new clocks with antiques in its museum, including the world's largest real cuckoo clock and an original circa 1865 English Tower Clock. Champ's has been in business just 20 minutes from downtown Atlanta since 1967. Located 1/2 mile from the 2007 Atlanta Street of Dreams, it is in a beautiful location mixed with the surrounding community. Tours welcome.
