Good Food
We've eaten at Beamies twice this week while staying downtown Augusta. The food and the service has been excellent. It's not a white tablecloth and napkins place, but it is really a neat place to eat.

My husband and I have been in Augusta for a couple of days. We have eaten two places -- Beamies and The Cotton Patch. The Cotton Patch was reasonable, albeit over priced for the quality. It has a great atmosphere of a downtown pub, but the food of an applebee's. Beamies is a dirty little "seafood" joint. The crab cakes are 5% crab and 95% ????? My husband sad his steak was deplorable. If anyone from management or the health department reads this, I hope you will have the grease in french fryer changed. It also took our waitress 10 minutes to bring me another beer 10 feet when we were her only customers. I can see by our experience why we were the only customers.

This is not a fancy place but the food is great! The atmosphere is nice too. Especially out on the patio. If you are looking for somewhere to just hang out with friends...this is the place to go.

If you like terrible food, this is just the place.

Denny's quality at expense account prices. The food was awful, overpriced, and indifferently served. We had a number of excellent meals in Downtown Augusta but this was not one of them. Be afraid, be very afraid!

They have the very best fried shrimp and oysters in town. The back patio is so casual, you can enjoy a good meal under the ceiling fans and even on the hottest Augusta nights it is pleasant. We eat there as often as possible.
