Rhinehart's fare keeps the crowds coming back for ice cold beer and freshly prepared seafood specialties like steamed shrimp on Mondays, crab legs on Tuesdays, and so on. Check with the restaurant to confirm nightly specials. But Rhinehart's isn't only for seafood lovers. They also serve up killer chicken wings and a huge hamburger.   (© 10Best)

Rhinehart's is the Harold's Barbecu and Havannah Sandwich Shop of Augusta; a place one pulls into whenever one is passing through. It has the best oyster po boys I or anyone else I know has ever eaten, the shrimp po boy is just as good. It does have outoor "dining" by the way (on picnic benches and tables under sun shades). Weak points? We always get the magarita's because the beer selection is a joke, and the likker options aren't any better. The table tops are sticky, and inside is noisy. So what.

The crab claws are good and cheap. They have good beer specials and shrimp specials. Don’t let anyone fool you this is not a place for kids. If you do take your kids, don’t let them use the bathrooms. Some of the sayings on the walls written by guests would leave a convict feeling dirty.

Tuesday night is snow crab claw night. You must have an ID to be seated...this probably goes for any night but I KNOW it is required on Tuesday. You will NOT be seated without and ID. The place is very smoky unless you sit outside, which is not an option when it is really cold. The claws are great. The shrimp is great. The cold beer a wonderful go-with. Casual, like blue jeans and T's, are it. You are seated at picnic table, unless you prefer the bar, and you often have to climb through, over, other diners because the tables are so close, but that just adds to the casual atmosphere. Claw crackers are at a premium during rush hours, but sharing one pair is also quite doable.
