For 30 years I have been a food fanatic traveling the planet searching out the most unique talents in the culinary world. From Robuchon to Boulud, from Trotter to Giardet, food has been my lifelong passion. When I stumbled on La Maison on Telfair inAugusta, GA, I was not remotely prepared for his explosive yet subtle flavors. Chef Heinz is a rare talent in the South. Very consistent and delicious, La Maison is never far from perfect. Very highly recommended.

My husband and I had a free evening without children so on a recommendation, we went to La Maison for dinner. We were informed that it is pricy but the food is great. That was an understatement. It was incredibly expensive but the food was absolutely delicious and wonderfully presented. This is what fine dining is all about. We had reservations at 7:30 pm and didn't leave until 10:00 pm. We made an evening of this experience, one that we can not afford to do every day but one well worth experiencing. Delicious food like this requires time to savor it, not scarf it down. The service was great. I would definately go there again.

I love this restaurant! I was told that it could be a little stuffy, but I didn't get that sense at all. The home is a beautifully restored historic site and Chef Heinz is the most charming man I've ever met.
Chef's culinary creations were exciting and delicious and his passion for his art is contagious!
We went to Veritas - the laid back "Wine and Tapas" lounge... I highly recommend this for good eats any day of the week. (Also much cheaper than the formal restaurant!! What a find!)
As a side note - they have a great website too. www.LaMaisonOnTelfair.com
