Sconyers throws open the doors on Thursday morning of each week and then sadly, closes them on Saturday night. That leaves lots of folks longing for next Thursday to enjoy some of the best Southern style BBQ ribs, pulled pork tenderloin, and smoked turkey. Round off each meal with a glass of sweet tea and buttery bread. Each platter comes with rice, hash and coleslaw or potato salad. No reservations needed. Casual to business casual attire.

The owner calls the cuisine here Southern French Rustic. Whatever its moniker, the wonderful food is extremely satisfying. Enjoy pasta with baby clams and mussels, thick pork chops with mashed potatoes, or pan-roasted Carolina prawns, asparagus, and goat cheese showered with balsamic vinegar. For dessert, try chocolate croissant bread pudding or the lemon tart with honey lavender ice cream, their signature sweet. Reservations recommended. Business dressy attire.

The motto of this eating establishment is "Bland is Banned" and are they ever true to their word! Food influenced by the rich and varied flavors of the Caribbean is available for lunch. Dishes like blackened chicken, Brazilian beef, and several tasty vegetarian choices are accompanied, usually, by fried plantains. All desserts are made fresh daily. Business casual attire.

Once an old cotton warehouse from the 1870's, this fun eatery has just about everything you need: live jazz music, over 20 dessert choices, and hearty dishes like stuffed sesame chicken breast, blackened snapper, and homemade pizzas and lasagnas. The desserts at this full service restaurant are as well known as the entrees. Boll Weevil blueberry banana cheesecake, banana chocolate chip cake, and seven types of chocolate in a dish appropriately named Heavenly Sevens. Order the #1 best seller, Caramel Fudge Pecan Cake. You may have to visit the Boll Weevil several times to pick your favorite. Reservations suggested. Business casual attire.

As the name suggests, this is the place to get nachos any way you like 'em. You can have 'em topped with any number of fresh ingredients. Lunch is quick and delicious, six days a week. In addition to the best nachos outside Mexico, Nacho Mama's also serves big stuffed burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and salads. Ice-cold margaritas are, of course, available. Business casual attire.

From the mischievous twinkling lights outside to the elegantly prismatic chandeliers, enjoy unforgettable dishes prepared by renowned Chef Heinz like pecan wood smoked salmon, herb crusted rack of lamb with apricot glaze, buffalo tenderloin with mushrooms, or roasted quail. This popular spot with locals gives the word casual a new meaning, with cement blocks on the walls and floors. Rhinehart's fare keeps the crowds coming back for ice cold beer and freshly prepared seafood specialties like steamed shrimp on Mondays, crab legs on Tuesdays, and so on. Check with the restaurant to confirm nightly specials. Rhinehart's isn't only for seafood lovers. They serve up killer chicken wings and a huge hamburger. Casual attire.

Brenda Gibson bought this 1905 home in 1988 and has been upgrading it since. B.C. Davenport's is arguably one of Augusta's best home-cooking style restaurants, whipping up delicious, rib stickin' food like chicken pot pie in a crust that defies "melt in your mouth" or the Back Porch salad served with chunks of fresh Ida Red apples. Desserts are, of course, homemade. Reservations suggested. Business casual attire.

This trendy downtown "pizza joint" is a veritable beehive of activity, always bustling with patrons. The interior is wooden floors and exposed brick walls, and its obvious patrons really enjoy themselves here. Could be something to do with the "joint's" specialty pizzas or the create-your-own from an extensive list of ingredients ranging from sausage and mushrooms to more atypical choices like artichoke and sun dried tomato. You can also order salads, sandwiches, and calzones. Casual attire.

10. Beamie's at the River

A favorite hangout and restaurant for locals, Beamie's is known for generous portions of oysters, shrimp and gumbos as well as chicken or steak selections. The shrimp gumbo has a reputation all its own. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed and the service is friendly. Casual attire.
