GEORGETOWN.   Discovered in 1963 by crews preparing the way for highway-building, this Georgetown tourist destination is now one of the most popular attractions in Austin among people mesmerized by earth's geological past. Descend into it via cable cars, and then take a paved hike through the various rooms at this Austin attraction, checking out rock formations, noting the role of water in its beauty, observing prehistoric fossils, and seeing resemblances in stone to objects up top. Tours vary in length and level of exertion.   (© 10Best)
