BARTON SPRINGS DISTRICT.   Without a doubt, one of the best activities in Austin is swimming at the gorgeous Barton Springs Pool. This Austin mainstay is surrounded by peaceful gardens, and it is fed by natural spring waters that stay at a year-round temperature of about 68 degrees. Schedules vary at this Austin swimming pool, but typically, there are lifeguards on duty between 9am and 6pm.
