DOWNTOWN.   One of the most dazzling family attractions in Austin, Texas, the nightly emergence of the Bats of the Congress Avenue Bridge is a wonder to behold. Watching the more than 1.5 million free-tail bats take flight for their evening insect hunts has become one of the most popular Austin family activities. Each night, these sophisticated creatures eat between 10,000 and 20,000 pounds of insects. The best time to see this unique downtown Austin attraction is around 8:30pm between March and November.   (© 10Best)
