10. Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum

BARTON SPRINGS DISTRICT.   One of the best museums in Austin, the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum offers a truly wonderful chance to view bronze and cast-stone sculptures by Charles Umlauf. Visitors can stroll through the outdoor garden or tour the indoor museum to get a close look at the artist's works. Constructed in 1991, this Austin museum features more than 150 pieces of Umlauf's work, with numerous additional pieces located in the lovely garden. The Umlauf Gardens are an oasis in the heart of the city. The gallery is well desinged, the art work is moving, and the grounds are breathtaking. One can loose track of time and all of their worries while in this private garden.
