UNIVERSITY AREA.   To gain a true appreciation for Austin theater, one must see a show at the Austin Lyric Opera. Founded in 1986, this Austin performance company has featured numerous internationally known guest performers, adding to its already sterling reputation. The Austin Lyric Opera consistently provides quality Austin entertainment and has produced such classics as Don Giovanni, Faust, The Magic Flute and La Traviata.
