8. Sholz Garten

UNIVERSITY AREA.   Nearly 150 years old, Sholz Garten is Texas's oldest tavern and one of the most popular bars in Austin. With a long history stemming from the German biergarten tradition, this Austin tavern has served quite a long list of celebrities, artists and politicians.
