6. Hudson's-on-the-Bend

WEST AUSTIN.   Esteemed Hudson's is located within a small Hill Country cottage, which also features a smokehouse and herb garden. Proprietor/chef Jeff Blank and executive chef Robert Rhoades are famous for their use of wild game and exotic ingredients. If you're adventurous, sample elk Wellington, grilled Axis venison chops, or chicken-fried, masa-crusted antelope with green chili gravy. Fine cuts of steak cater to those feeling less bold. Hudson's offers charming atmosphere with small, intimate dining rooms. If you have to wait for a table, which is not at all unusual, have a seat in the garden, where hundreds of twinkling lights shine from the trees.   (© 10Best)

Food was good but this place is way overrated. Expensive and the ambience is pretty dull. If you enjoy sitting in what appears to be an old farm house that really needs some sprucing up ,then maybe this is for you. Don't understand why the critics think so highly of this place. Too many better places to eat in Austin to ever go back.
