If you haven't heard of this one, don't fret. This joint is for diehards. Family photographs and chipped ceramics hang on the mauve walls of this renovated house off I-35 and Cesar Chavez. EAST END.   Since 1963, this family-owned restaurant has been welcoming hungry guests with fantastic, homestyle Tex-Mex cooking. The owners are active in the community and have amassed a large contingent of friends and well-wishers, so the place has a wonderful local feel. Tex Mex Vegetarian heaven! except for Mr. Natural, i can't think of a single mex or tex-mex restaurant that cares as much about making sure we vegs get fed, with an extensive section in the menu. and all in that amazing, hasn't changed since 1964, atmosphere. this is REAL tex-mex - not mexi-cali, not interior mex, not some fancy trumped up nouveau deal. good ole puddle food! just like mama used ta make! yum!
