BARTON SPRINGS DISTRICT.
Chuy's is a real local favorite, and its colorful, whimsical decor features an Elvis shrine, lava lamps, and approximately 1,000 wooden fish dangling precariously from the ceiling. New Mexico chilis are grilled up front and served in many of the tasty Tex-Mex dishes, and Southwest enchiladas come stuffed with smoked chicken and cheese and crowned with a fried egg.

Beware - this is the most overrated restaurant in town. If you like salsa that tastes like ketchup and high prices, then go to Chuy's. If you want decent Tex-Mex go somewhere else.

Probably the best all around tex-mex places in Austin. Not the best in any particular area but it's funky, good, and consistent. Request the jalapeno ranch with your chips - you'll love it!!

The Banditos and the ranchero sauces. The cool Elvis stuff. The nifty t-shirts. Chuy's rocks!
