CHARLES VILLAGE.   Step back in time to British Empire-era India at this Baltimore Indian restaurant. At the Ambassador Dining Room, one of the best Baltimore international restaurants, you’ll find delicious Indian dishes, servers decked out in suits, and happy patrons savoring classic, as well as creative, dishes. High class dining and ethnic cuisine marry well at this restaurant, with an intimate atmosphere and outside dining. Don’t be outdone by the waiters; wear jackets and ties, guys!   (© 10Best)

The Ambassador is overpriced for what it offers- Americanized Indian food served preciously by pretentious waiters. Specifically, heavy cream and red chilli spice are used to flavor dishes to give an Indian flavor = heat as opposed to authentic blends of Indian spices married together to create a savory depth of flavor without cheating. As a native Indian who dines out frequently at all different price points, I do note that I am tough critic of Indian food and unfortunately Ambassador does not deliver. The dining room is pretty/formal and not child friendly. (They do not have high chairs)

Ambience is wonderful, whether seated on the patio on a lovely spring day, or in the dining room any other day--cozy and tastefully appointed. The food is delicious--I would call it "Americanized" Indian cuisine (cannot get it spicy no matter how hard I try!) and service is a bit overzealous on the water refills while at the same time occasionally lacking when you really need something...A nice experience over all, and a beautiful setting!
