FELLS POINT.   Serving up steamed mussels any way you like, from just butter and garlic to a Lancaster creamy mustard sauce, this Fells Point restaurant may just be the best place for Baltimore seafood. The Shellfish Royal is a must for any seafood lover, a delicious medley of shrimp, oysters, scallops and Bertha's famous mussels. Baltimore's finest jazz musicians show up here to entertain, and an historic nautical atmosphere adds to Bertha's charm. Don't pass up this Baltimore dining experience.   (© 10Best)

The mussels are great with the sauces. Try the spinach with olive oil sauce, and the mustard sauce - they go so well with the mussels. Crab cakes taste good, a little bit salty for me but just fine for my friend, and the price is good. Two crab cakes with potato side dish for only $19 (price of Jan 05). You'll love it.

Bertha's, famous for the bumper stickers hailing their mussels, has a great, grungy atmosphere. The food is okay, but avoid the mussels at all cost. I've eaten there a half dozen times and the mussels have always been gritty. Actually, "gritty" is putting it mildly. Stick to the entrees and you can have a pleasant dining experience.
