CANTON. Savor the sweetness of crab meat any way you like, from huge steamed blue crabs to flavorful crab cakes. The unassuming dining room makes it clear that people come not for sophistication but for a relaxed, bib-wearing, mallet-wielding good time. The menu features non-crab items too, including wild rockfish, cajun grilled swordfish, and pan-seared Chilean sea bass, but the true stars of the show are the crabs. Pitchers of beer and tasty side dishes only add to the appeal for crab-lovin' crowds. NB No steamed crabs until after 5pm.

INNER HARBOR. Part of a reputable chain, this restaurant has risen to the top of Baltimore's seafood pack. The old-fashioned, masculine decor and the extensive menu of well-prepared classics have made it a hit with a diverse clientele. Sure, a lot of the credit goes to its location on Pier 5, which affords patrons incredible views of the harbor, especially from the patio. But if the view gets people to visit, the food keeps them coming back. Seafood Newburg, crab cakes, and rockfish topped with crab and black bean salsa are just a few of the menu options available.

INNER HARBOR. As the name suggests, one of the primary attractions at this seafood-lovers' haven is the wrap-around view. Set high above the Inner Harbor, the restaurant diverts your attention with its incredible vista. Don't forget about the menu, though, which pulls in local business bigwigs with its excellent dining options. Try perfectly cooked tuna, served with garlic mashed potatoes and adorned with basil oil that uses herbs grown on the restaurant's rooftop garden. Terrific local crabs are prepared several ways, although crabcakes are the enduring favorite. Excellent wines and desserts, too.
